U-NEWS Terms of Service

Effective date: 15 September 2026
Last updated: 15 September 2026

1. Service Provider and Scope

U-NEWS is owned and published by Univerza Co., Ltd. (“the Company,” “we,” or “us”).

These terms apply to access to and use of U-NEWS, including its content, features, and membership services.

Please read these terms before using the service. If you do not accept them, please refrain from using it. Rights accrued before you stop using the service and your statutory rights remain protected.

2. User Eligibility

Minimum age for using the service: [Specify minimum age.]

If you cannot enter into a binding contract independently under applicable law, you must obtain consent from your legal representative or parent or guardian as required before using the service or purchasing a membership.

The age rating displayed in the App Store concerns content suitability and does not replace legal requirements concerning contractual capacity.

3. Accounts and Security

Some features may require registration or identity verification. You must provide accurate information as necessary for the service and update it when it changes.

You are responsible for keeping your device and authentication information secure, including not sharing one-time passwords. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must not impersonate another person, use someone else’s information without authority, or transfer account access in breach of the service conditions.

We will assess account incidents based on their circumstances rather than automatically holding users responsible for every instance of unauthorised use.

4. Use of the App and Content

You may access and use U-NEWS for personal purposes in accordance with these terms and applicable platform conditions. Use of the service does not transfer ownership of the app or its content to you.

Software, trademarks, designs, and content created by the Company belong to the Company or its licensors. External news, images, and other materials remain the property of their respective rights holders.

You may use sharing tools provided within the app within their intended scope. You must not copy, republish, sell, or commercially exploit content beyond the permissions granted or applicable legal exceptions.

For apps downloaded through the App Store, software licensing is governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement unless the Company provides a custom licence through Apple’s applicable process.

5. News, Information, and AI-Assisted Content

U-NEWS provides news and information for general awareness. Some content comes from external providers or is summarised, rewritten, or translated using artificial intelligence.

Content may contain errors, be incomplete, or become outdated. Consider publication dates and sources, and verify important information with the original source.

Financial, health, legal, and other specialist information within the app is not prepared as personalised advice. Predictive or belief-based content is provided for general interest or entertainment according to its nature.

You may report errors or suspected rights violations for review. This section does not exclude duties or liabilities imposed on the Company by law.

6. Content You Submit or Publish

Where features allow comments, images, or other contributions, you must have the necessary rights to your content and remain legally responsible for what you submit.

You retain ownership of your content. You permit the Company to store, make technical copies of, display, and process it as necessary to provide the features you choose, maintain security, and investigate reports.

This permission does not transfer ownership or grant unlimited rights to use your content for other purposes. Related personal data processing is governed by the U-NEWS Privacy Policy.

If you publish content in a public area, other users may view or save it. Removing content from the service cannot guarantee removal of copies already retained by others.

7. Prohibited Use

You must not use the service to:

  • Engage in unlawful activity, fraud, or impersonation

  • Harass, threaten, promote hatred, or publish content that infringes others’ rights

  • Disclose another person’s personal information without authority

  • Distribute spam, malware, or material intended to disrupt users or systems

  • Access accounts, systems, or information without permission

  • Circumvent access restrictions or payment requirements

  • Use unauthorised bulk extraction tools in ways that interfere with rights or service availability

  • Manipulate scores, engagement, referrals, or benefits

These restrictions do not remove rights provided by law, including permitted exceptions for content use or software examination.

8. Reporting and Content Moderation

You may report content or users that appear to breach these terms through reporting channels available in the app or by contacting us with relevant details.

We may investigate, restrict visibility, or remove content as necessary, considering the seriousness of the issue, evidence, impact, and legal requirements.

If you believe an action was taken in error, you may request a review and provide supporting information. We may withhold certain details where disclosure would affect others’ rights, security, or compliance with law.

9. Premium Memberships and App Store Purchases

Where memberships are offered, the benefits, price, currency, duration, and conditions of each plan will be displayed before purchase confirmation.

For automatically renewing plans, billing and renewal follow the purchase information and applicable App Store conditions. You can review or cancel renewal through subscription management in your Apple account.

Uninstalling U-NEWS or deleting your U-NEWS account does not cancel an App Store subscription’s renewal.

Cancelling renewal generally does not immediately end access already paid for. Access continues until the end of the applicable period, subject to purchase conditions, unless a refund, transaction revocation, or another applicable event changes that entitlement.

Refund requests for App Store purchases should be submitted through Apple’s channels. Eligibility depends on the purchase, platform conditions, and applicable law. These terms do not impose a blanket rule that all purchases are non-refundable.

If a previous purchase is not reflected in your access, use the restore-purchases feature where available or contact support. Do not send payment card details or your Apple account password.

10. External Services

The app may link to third-party websites, news, or services. Additional terms and privacy policies may apply when you use those services.

A link does not constitute endorsement of all third-party information or offers. The Company remains responsible for its own legal duties concerning service integration and data handling.

11. Availability and Service Changes

We may update features, content, or technical requirements, and temporarily interrupt the service for maintenance or incident resolution.

Availability may be affected by internet connections, devices, upstream providers, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where a change materially affects a paid service, we will provide appropriate notice and address remaining entitlements according to the purchase conditions and applicable law, rather than reducing paid benefits without an appropriate remedy.

12. Suspension and Termination

We may restrict or suspend access for reasonable grounds, including breaches of these terms, security risks, or legal orders. Our response will be proportionate to the circumstances and impact.

Where practicable, we will explain the reason and how to request a review, unless doing so would compromise security, an investigation, or legal compliance.

You may stop using the service and request account deletion through the designated channels. Data handling after termination follows the Privacy Policy. Membership and refund rights are addressed under Section 9 and applicable law.

13. Privacy

Collection, use, and disclosure of personal data are governed by the U-NEWS Privacy Policy.

Accepting these terms does not provide blanket consent for every personal data processing purpose. We will request separate consent where necessary.

14. Liability and Statutory Rights

We will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing the service. However, we cannot guarantee that every item of information will always be accurate or that the service will be free from errors or interruptions.

Each party’s liability will be determined according to the circumstances, loss, and applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits consumer rights that cannot be waived.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms and will identify their effective date and last-updated date.

For material changes, we will provide appropriate advance notice and an opportunity to review them, unless immediate action is necessary to comply with law or prevent harm.

Where fresh acceptance is required by law or the nature of the change, we will obtain it accordingly.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

Terms governing the service relationship between you and the Company are subject to Thai law without removing mandatory rights or protections applicable to you.

Please contact us with complaints so that we can investigate and attempt to resolve them together. This does not limit your right to approach a competent authority or seek a judicial remedy.
